Adoption of Minutes – September 20th meeting:

Principal’s Update – Tanya Sterioff
• Wilkinson’s staffing model for next school year distributed same as this year with the exception of an additional grade 1 class.
• Plan to reduce recesses to 10 minutes; school will start 5 minutes later and end 5 minutes earlier
o Starting next year 20 minutes of mandatory “moderate to vigorous” exercise being implemented for students
• Upcoming Events
o Apr. 13th: 2 performances
o Apr. 20th: Spring Concert (Primary at 6pm, Junior at 7pm)
o Apr. 21st: Earth Day activities in the morning
o 1st w/o May: Art Gallery
o May 4th: Open House
o May 8th: Canadian Opera Company performance

Committee Updates
i) Performing Arts – Bianca
• Nothing new to report
ii) Greening & Grounds Committee
• Garbage in the Learning Garden is a real problem
iii) Communications Committee – Carol
• Looking for input to newsletter
iv) Fundraising
• Everything is moving along well for Fun Fair
• Contact John Hykel if anyone requires reimbursement for any supplies for Fun Fair
• Pizza Lunches scheduled for April 28th and May 26th
• Movie Night scheduled for April 21st
• Pepsi is donating 25 cases of drinks for Movie Nights and Fun Fair no longer permitted to provide sugary drinks to schools so this will be made up of water, juices and fruit-flavoured sparkling water. Sunny to confirm date and time of delivery with the office and will be there to help deliver to Room 56.
Other Business
i) Sunny would like to draft letter of reference for Ms. Pashby for Wilkinson to use as support to keep her. Tanya advised that it is not likely that Wilkinson will be able to keep her but that Ms. Pashby may wish to have such a letter for her own files. Sunny to prepare letter for Jacqui to edit.
ii) Some discussion about potentially having a volunteer recognition evening event as a thank you given that many parents can’t make the Volunteer Tea held during the day each year. Perhaps it could be combined with an AGM.
