Technical Writing:

I have extensive technical writing experience, mainly writing training manuals and help guides for technical support personnel at Apple Computer and at Gavel & Gown. (a company that makes legal software) I have also received formal training at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.

In 2001 I joined the Toronto chapter of the Society for Technical Communication and became a contributor to their monthly newsletter, for which I won an Outstanding Chapter Rookie Award. In 2003 I joined the STC Executive as the editor of the newsletter. In 2004 I won the Pacesetter Award for "editing and producing an outstanding newsletter and successfully executing a seamless transition from paper to online format". I remained as the editor through to the end of the 2004-2005 STC season.

As a writer for the STC newsletter, I was privileged to report on many excellent speakers. I have posted some of the more interesting reports here. You can also see the STC Toronto Newsletter page here.
